Sheriff

Sheriff David Millsap, BS., MS., has 40-years of experience in the Criminal Justice Field. Sheriff Millsap retired from the Springfield Police Department in 2016. At the Springfield Police Department, he served as the Section Commander for Criminal Investigations, Special Investigations, Traffic Section and Patrol Section. He has supervised the Community Policing Unit, Patrol Unit, and the Training Academy Section. He also served as the Criminal Investigations Division Commander at the rank of Captain.

He has worked as a patrol officer, detective, and task force officer both for the Springfield Police Department and the Laclede County Sheriff’s Department. He also spent 10-years as the Juvenile Officer in the 26th Circuit Court. Sheriff Millsap is a adjunct professor for Drury University in Leadership Development and Organizational Law and Policy and he is a adjunct professor in Criminal Investigations for Evangel University. Millsap currently teaches Leadership for Missouri State University’s Public Safety Center.

He is the past President of the Missouri Investigators Associations and currently serves on the MOSIA Board of Directors. Sheriff Millsap is past member of the Board of Directors for the COPE Shelter House in Lebanon. Millsap currently on the Board of Directors for the Laclede County Drug Council. Millsap is a member of the Lebanon Rotary Club.

Sheriff Millsap is a member of the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church. He is a member of the Lebanon Area Sports Hall of Fame.

Sheriff Millsap and his wife Tammy raised their two children, Jason, and Amanda in their hometown of Lebanon. David and Tammy have three grandchildren.
